Hello, November

A Little Less Rush, a Little More Thanks 🍂

I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to the pumpkins and pretty fall leaves. Fall is my favorite time of year, and I like to hold on to it a little longer—even when the Christmas decorations start calling my name!

But as November begins, I’m thinking about more than what’s going on the front porch. I’m thinking about how I want this month to feel.

A little less hurried. A little more thankful. More time enjoying the people God has blessed me with.

As a mom and grandma, it’s easy to get caught up in making everything special for everybody. There are meals to plan, things to buy, and always something else that needs doing. Sometimes I need the reminder that sitting down with my family matters just as much as checking another thing off my list.

The blessings I’m most thankful for usually aren’t fancy. A hug from a grandbaby. Hearing from someone I love. Laughter in the middle of an ordinary day. Those little things can get overlooked when my mind is already on tomorrow.

So this November, I want to pay closer attention. Say thank you more often. Take a minute to pray before reaching for my phone. Let a few things wait while I enjoy who’s right in front of me.

If you’re feeling that holiday rush creeping in, maybe you’ll join me. We don’t have to have the whole season figured out on the first day of the month.

There’s still time to enjoy the fall leaves—and plenty to be thankful for right here.

What’s one little blessing you’re bringing into November? I’d love to hear yours. 🤎

With love,
